Los Angeles based designer, Mark Williams, considers himself a client’s designer. He credits much of his success to his Mid-Western sensibility and his desire to create a dialogue with his clients and to marry their ideas with his vision.
Mark likes to take on projects in the early stages, working with both client and architect. His team is experienced in guiding the interiors with great respect for the integrity of the architecture. At the same time, Mark enjoys working on existing properties and is brilliant at remaining true to their history and provenance. As a result of Mark’s collaborative way of working, his clients consistently feel they are living in their own creation.
Mark’s extensive travels and his never-ending search for new ideas are always present. Clients are impressed with his immaculate sense for detail and uncompromising ability to create pieces that are exquisite in design and most importantly, comfortable.
Whether the design is inspired by a Venetian palace or a small farm house, Mark considers the project as a whole, collaborating with the client and the architect to create a vision and then making it come to life. Mark and his staff are intimately involved in every detail from conception to installation. The result is always warm, personal, livable and undeniably beautiful.
When you enter a home designed by Mark Williams, you always feel welcome. As Mark says, “I want your guests to feel they can sit, touch and be immediately at home.”
Mark has been custom designing furniture for his clients for many years. Recently he launched Alton House®, which will make this beautiful furniture line available to the general public.
Mark’s work has been featured in several national publications including Coastal Living, Better Homes & Gardens, Décor Magazine, Martha Stewart Living, Classic Homes of California (Published by Rizzoli) and on the cover of the September 2012 Issue of Traditional Home.
